From the President

Dear friends, members, and families of University Lutheran,

Great news.  This week we received a letter from Candidate Jay Winters, where he writes, that as soon as he graduates on May 18th, he will accept with joy and thanksgiving the call to be our pastor.  He will visit us on June 3d and preach.  Please mark your calendars and come to meet him.

We continue to praise God, as Pastor Dohrman continues to improve.  We are also pleased that Wayne Smith is back home, after a hospital stay.  Unfortunately, Bob Culp is still hospitalized.  He is recovering from hip surgery after a nasty fall last week.  Please keep him and Sylvia, and Mary Liz Moody and Deb Buenrostro and their families in your prayers as they face medical problems and challenges.

I wish all of the mothers in our midst a very happy Mother's Day.

If you are in town this Sunday, please join us for worship at 11 a.m.  We would love to see you.

God's blessings,
Elsa McKinneyUUU

A Look at the Lessons

This is an informal group of lively, heartfelt, meaningful, practical application, open sharing and exchanges on specific Bible passages featured for that Sunday's sermon, found in the church bulletin's "Celebrate" section. It is enriching and enhances the Sunday's service for all.

All are welcome each Sunday morning at 10:15 in front of the fireplace.UUU

Pastor Dohrman sends his greetings
From a conversation between Pastor Dohrman and Mary Hafner:

“I am so very appreciative of all  the congregation members whose concerns and prayers have been sent my way during this difficult time.  Thanks to all who have helped with conversations, visits, food, transportation, and other duties at home and church.”

“Thursday was a special day for me, getting to go to the coast with the Fergusons.  Visiting the art gallery in Appalachicola to see Rosemary's beautiful watercolors and sitting on the porch of the beach house was a real treat.”

“Thank you, everyone, for all that you do!”UUU

Summer student housing still available at University Lutheran

University Lutheran Church and Student Center offers semi-private campus living for up to four students each semester. We offer very reasonable semester rates, high speed cable, cable TV, access to piano and organ, and plenty of quiet study space. We do not offer any of the usual distractions like a swimming pool, weight room, sauna, basketball court, tennis court, PETS, or wild parties.  If you are a serious student and don't want to "break the bank" with dorm expenses, please email the ULC President for additional information. NOTE: This is not a co-ed facility and occupancy may be dependent upon gender. UUU
